The Education Review Office has an overview of the early childhood and school education systems in New Zealand. We have collected some information that parents can use to help them with their decisions on choosing a good early childhood service and a school that will suit them and their children. We have also published a guide to assessment in primary schools, since New Zealand schools use a wide range of ways to assess the progress children are making.
