ERO has published frameworks for its reviews of early childhood services and schools so that its process for reviews is transparent and easily understood. Evaluation indicators have been developed so that licensees, managers, school boards of trustees, principals, staff and others understand the basis for judgements made by review officers during a review.
Both the Framework and Evaluation Indicators for School Reviews are available online and as booklets.
All schools and early childhood services are sent copies before their Education Review but feel free to contact us if you would like more.
ERO has recently revised its approach to early childhood service reviews. The new review framework and evaluation indicators are included in one document, ERO’s Approach to Reviews in Early Childhood Services (Draft) 2012 and apply to most early childhood services. Click here for more information about this document and to download a printable copy.
We still have separate review procedures for kōhanga reo (available on this page), and home-based education and care services and hospital-based education and care services are still reviewed under the 2002 framework and evaluation indicators (also available on this page).
