  1. Positive Foundations for Learning: Confident and Competent Children in Early Childhood Services

    This report discusses the areas of strength, and areas for development that ERO found. It also describes the practices of specific service types - Playcentres, kindergartens and education and care services - in supporting children’s social competence, and understanding of appropriate behaviour.

  2. Education Outside the Classroom: Schools' Use of EOTC Guidelines

    This evaluation investigates how well schools are using the EOTC Guidelines in their provision of EOTC, how well their EOTC activities complement the curriculum, how well they plan for the safety of EOTC activities, and how well the revised EOTC Guidelines support teaching and safety.

  3. Directions for Learning: The New Zealand Curriculum Principles, and Teaching as Inquiry

    In November 2007, a revised curriculum was launched for use in New Zealand schools. The New Zealand Curriculum is a statement of official policy related to teaching and learning in English-medium schools in New Zealand.   4. Working with the National Standards: Raising student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics

    This is the latest report in the series of ERO's national evaluation reports about the implementation of the National Standards in English-medium schools with students in Years 1 to 8.The evaluation involved 237 schools reviewed by ERO in Terms 3 and 4, 2010.
