At the end of Term 3, ERO launched its Leadership Partnership Programme, which will provide successful school leaders with the opportunity to train and join review teams as partners in ERO’s external school evaluation process.
The programme is intended to build strong enduring partnerships and networks between ERO and the sector, build school leaders’ understanding of evaluation for improvement through upskilling practitioners in ERO’s work, and enhance the review process for both schools and ERO.
During Term 4 we called for expressions of interest from senior school leaders and principals who wish to join ERO in the school review process during 2020. We have been highly encouraged by the very positive response and are in the process of selecting a pilot Leadership Partners group from the numerous applications received.
We intend to start with a small number of senior leaders and grow sector involvement over time based on what we learn through the initial phases of the programme. Those selected to work with us will be provided with professional learning and development in ERO’s methodologies and procedures prior to working as part of an ERO school review team.
