Time to talanoa: ERO joins Pacific Education Ministers at CPEM 2023

The Conference of Pacific Education Ministers (CPEM) brings together Education Ministers, agencies and experts from across the Pacific to share what we collectively know about achieving the best outcomes for learners.

Our impartial and objective monitoring and evaluation is critical to the integrity of the New Zealand education system, ensuring New Zealanders can have confidence in the delivery of pre-tertiary education.

We use the insights we find to help ensure that educators, whānau and agencies are well-informed about what’s happening at a system level and the effectiveness of programmes and investments that make the biggest difference to learner outcomes.

While our focus is on Aotearoa- New Zealand and our realm nations; our research can also be useful beyond our shores.

O lupe sa vao ese'ese, ae ua fuifui faatasi

Although we are from different parts of the forest, we are connected through our shared cause

Evaluating how an education system supports learners is not unique to Aotearoa. At ERO we believe that collaboration and connection are powerful levers for system change. Being present at CEPM 2023 enables us to better understand how others are undertaking this mahi, and the impact they are seeing for their learners.

Through talanoa, there is potential for us to collectively accelerate system improvement, drawing on our collective insights. We thank those at CPEM 2023 for welcoming ERO to talanoa, and to those who shared what they know with us. Ko te Tamaiti te Pūtake o te Kaupapa – the child is the heart of the matter.

Our focus for CPEM 2023
