Working with ERO during COVID 19

We understand the importance of continuing the mahi and we have developed approaches to work safely with schools/kura and early learning services in all phases of the Covid 19 Protection Framework.

The ERO approach to the COVID 19 framework

ERO Review staff will work with educators to ensure that reviews are practical and safe in line with the current Covid Protection Framework level or phase. This may mean we opt to conduct reviews onsite, a mixture of onsite and virtual review or, an entirely virtual review.

The ERO approach is guided by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health advice along with feedback from the education sector.  In line with that advice ERO staff will continue to wear masks while they are onsite and contact you prior to coming on site to confirm that they are well and discuss any arrangements that you may have operating at your site.

In kōhanga reo, puna and kura, Te Uepū ā Motu have continued to operate under all phases of the Covid-19 framework.  Te Uepū ā Motu utilise a range of responsive bespoke approaches to meet the needs of each whānau. For each evaluation, reviewers are guided by whānau who have shown a keen willingness for reviews to continue despite the ongoing challenges of Covid-19.
