Including Students with High Needs

ERO evaluated how well schools included students with high needs. Approximately three percent of the student population have significant physical, sensory, neurological, psychiatric, behavioural or intellectual impairment. ERO’s evaluation showed that approximately half of the schools in the study demonstrated inclusive practice, while 30 percent had ‘pockets of inclusive practice’ and 20 percent had few inclusive practices.

Seven Christchurch schools work together to make a difference for their learners

The group of schools, forming a community of practice called Kahukura, identified a need in their community to better support their students’ wellbeing and learning.

Accelerating the Progress of Priority Learners in Primary Schools

Partners in Learning: Parents' Voices

This poster presents, the indicators from ERO’s Te Ara Poutama|Indicators of quality for early childhood education: what matters most, published in 2020. It shows the outcome indicators, which are the learning outcomes for children from Te Whāriki.
