Managing Professional Learning and Development in Secondary Schools

Learning in a Covid-19 World: The Impact of Covid-19 on Schools

To understand what the challenges of Covid-19 were in 2020 and how schools responded, the Education Review Office spoke to schools and surveyed over 2500 principals and teachers across the country. New school principals need more support, particularly new principals in small schools, ERO research shows

Principals are crucial to the quality of education. A growing number of principals across New Zealand are new to the role. In 2023, more than a third of principals have been in the role for less than five years, an increase from a quarter in 2014. New research from ERO has found that only a quarter of new principals feel prepared when they start.

What drives learning in the senior secondary school?

Promoting Success for Māori Students Schools’ Progress
