Learning in a Covid-19 World: The Impact of Covid-19 on Schools

To understand what the challenges of Covid-19 were in 2020 and how schools responded, the Education Review Office spoke to schools and surveyed over 2500 principals and teachers across the country. This report presents our findings on how Covid-19 impacted students, teachers and schools, how schools responded and what they learnt, and the challenges schools expect they might face in future alert level changes.

Te Kahu Whakahaumaru: Māori continue to show resilience across Māori-medium education

In Aotearoa, Māori-medium education experienced significant disruption when the outbreak of Covid-19 forced kura to close their doors, and whānau and kaiako to adjust to home schooling and distance learning. Science in the Early Years: Early Childhood and Years 1-4

Thriving at school? Education for disabled learners in schools

An Alternative Education? Support for our most disengaged young people

Covid-19 Learning in Lockdown

Evaluation Indicators for Kura Kaupapa Māori reviews

We worked closely with Te Rūnanga Nui o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori o Aotearoa (Te Rūnanga Nui) to develop and monitor a specialist review methodology for Te Aho Matua kura kaupapa Māori. These indicators are used during reviews in Te Aho Matua Kura Kaupapa Māori.
