How ERO Reviews Kaupapa Māori and Māori Medium Kura

We have developed a review process in collaboration with Te Rūnanga Nui o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori for Te Aho Matua kura. The process and the scope of the review will be negotiated and agreed on by both the kura and ERO in the first instance.

The Framework for Kura Kaupapa Māori Reviews provides more information about how we undertake reviews and evaluation.  You can find this information listed below.

For Ngā Kura ā-Iwi and Kura Motuhake, the review is carried out in collaboration with the tumuaki and or nominated representative/s of Te Pou Marumaru or Board of Trustees. As with the kura Te Aho Matua, the process and the scope of the review will be negotiated and agreed on by both the kura and ERO in the first instance.

Te Uepū ā-Motu – The evaluation and review team

Te Uepū ā-Motu is the evaluation team who work with Māori-Medium and Kaupapa Māori education providers to evaluate and review.

Our focus is to add value in Māori-medium settings through our evaluations, partnerships and innovation.

Our work alongside Māori fulfils our joint aspiration to support the education and wellbeing of mokopuna, tamariki, uri, whānau, hapū and iwi.

We use kaupapa Māori evaluation approaches, to provide high-quality evaluation insights that are a catalyst for change and improvement, including positive outcomes for ākonga Māori.
